The Order expresses a timely, fresh expression of ordination, which reaches backward into the rich orthodoxy of our faith in Jesus Christ through the visible expression of the church, as well as brings God’s future kingdom glory and mission into our present day with consideration of today’s missional need.

BeliefsWe believe each Fellow and Oblate must follow an approved Rule of Life. The Order’s common work is the work of providing spiritual guidance for those in ministry. And the AMO’s common culture is based on its common “post- evangelical” expression of the faith and church. In addition, the AMO and its culture within its proclivity toward contemplative spirituality referring to the time-tested desert spirituality and discipleship. The AMO believes this spirituality is especially applicable for those in Christian leadership.
Participation in the OrderFellows have two levels of commitment: Fellows, whose ordination is either held within or without the AMO, and Oblates of the AMO, who follow the rule of the AMO but are not in leadership nor hold their ordination with the AMO.
